John E. Moyer Dear Dr. Flax, It's been said that we are all primarily a product of the time and place where we grew up. In my case that was a good thing in many ways but not with respect to my early dental health. I grew up in a small rural community in the 1950's before fluoride and when good dental care was considered to be extracting a tooth rather than trying to save it. I didn't have braces or adequate preventative care. As a result I have gone through life with crooked, unattractive teeth that limited my willingness to smile and show my teeth. But now, thanks to you, I'm beyond that. Last fall I decided to do something about it and correct the problem. I initially went to what is probably the largest and best known cosmetic dental practice in Atlanta. I went through their marketing pitch and listened to their recommendations but for some reason couldn't pull the trigger. Something just didn't feel right. I felt like I was being sold something rather than making a personal healthcare decision. I procrastinated and finally my wife indicated she had seen your ads and web site and perhaps I should get another opinion. I consulted with you and to make a long story short had no problem "pulling the trigger." The comparison was like night and day. When I met you and your staff it was a totally different experience. It was clear when I sat down with you I was talking to the dentist who would be doing my procedure. With the other practice that wasn't the case. When I met with you and your staff to prepare I felt like I was the center of your attention and it was obvious you had given serious thought to my course of treatment. That was far from the case with respect to the other practice. In short I felt like I mattered - not like I was one of many to come into an office and be cycled through. Based on comparisons to other dental offices, everybody in your office is first class and a real asset to you practice. Now that I'm done with the procedures and bleaching and look back I can't believe I waited until this point in my life to do this. If only I had dealt with it earlier. However, even though I may have waited longer than I should have I couldn't be happier with my results. My teeth are what they could have been all along. The shape, color and bite are all perfect. To top it off you showed great empathy on the days of the procedures, checked on my condition and even offered some valued advice not to look in the rearview mirror too much admiring my new teeth while driving home. So I made it home with no mishaps and spent the next hour in front of the mirror at home admiring my new teeth and smile. What a difference!! And now, even though I had less than stellar dental care while growing up, you would never know it. Thanks to your tremendous efforts and results I now smile frequently and willingly. John E.
