NightLase: Laser Snoring Treatment

What It Is

NightLase is a fast, non-invasive, and effective laser treatment to improve your sleep by lessening the effects of sleep apnea and decreasing snoring

How It Works

During NightLase treatment, laser light heats the tissue at the back of your mouth. This tightens the tissue by contracting the collagen in the oral musculos region to reduce sound of snoring and effects on sleep apnea in the patient.

What To Expect

This highly effective procedure is perfectly painless. You can return to your everyday routine immediately following the treatment. The full NightLase treatment typically take more than one visit, although improvements can be felt from day one.

FAQ

Dr. Flax answers your questions about NightLase

Is snoring a problem?

If you’re like most people, you might think snoring is just an annoying quirk. But it’s not just an aesthetic problem! Snoring can lead to more serious health problems, like cardiovascular disease. Your snoring can also be a sign of a dangerous and potentially life-threatening issue called sleep apnea. If you or a loved one suffers from snoring, our NightLase treatment can significantly reduce snoring and obstructive sleep apnea problems.

What causes snoring?

Snoring stems from an aiirway obstruction. It might result from:

  • Sleep apnea
  • Your mouth anatomy
  • Genetic factors
  • A deviated septum
  • Poor sleeping positions
  • Sleep deprivation
  • Alcohol consumption

Additionally, some people are at higher risk of snoring than others. Those risk factors include obesity, being male, older age, having a wide neck or narrow airways, and sinus problems.

Is NightLase a good option for me?

To find out if you’re a good candidate for NightLase, meet with Dr. Flax for an evaluation. Together, you’ll review your medical and dental history, and talk about your symptoms. NightLase therapy produces fast results that last for up to an entire year. You won’t have to sleep with a snoring or sleep apnea device or worry about painful surgical procedures. Most cases of snoring or apnea are treated over a series of 4-6 appointments.

What is NightLase treatment like?

During the NightLase procedure, a handheld laser applicator is used to send laser beams directly to the target tissues at the back of your mouth, heating and tightening the soft palate, uvula, and tonsils. The procedure is non-invasive, painless, and well-tolerated by most patients.
